  • 5 medium apples, sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 3/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups salted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned whole rolled oats
  • 1 and 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp salted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced apples with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter with flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
  4. Set aside 2 cups of crust mixture. Firmly press the rest into the prepared pan as the base.
  5. Layer the apple mixture over the crust and top with reserved crumble.
  6. Bake for 38-45 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for 1-2 hours before slicing. Drizzle with salted caramel sauce before serving.
