  • 2 tablespoons shawarma spice blend
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken thighs with shawarma spice blend, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat; sauté onions until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic; cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add marinated chicken; cook for 5-7 minutes until browned on all sides.
  5. Stir in rinsed basmati rice to coat it with spices.
  6. Pour in chicken broth; bring to a boil then reduce heat to low and cover.
  7. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until rice is tender and chicken is cooked through.
