  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix sliced peaches with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Pour melted butter into a baking dish and add the milk and vanilla to the dry mixture; stir until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring. Spoon peach mixture on top without mixing.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly around edges.
