  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream (for glaze)
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and toast the pecans on a baking sheet for 5–7 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; then gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in toasted pecans gently.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  8. Cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the glaze by melting butter and brown sugar in a saucepan; stir in milk and whisk in powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies and allow it to set before serving.
