  • 3 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar (70g)
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (490g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (85g)
  • 1/4 cup salted butter (57g)
  • 23 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • Freshly chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk with yeast and let it froth.
  2. Add sugar, flour, egg, salt, and softened butter; combine until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 15 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled (about 90 minutes).
  5. Punch down the dough, divide into 12 pieces, and shape into balls.
  6. Arrange on a lined baking sheet, allow to rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Melt remaining butter with garlic; brush over hot rolls before serving.
