Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • ½ cup softened unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese
  • ¼ cup softened unsalted butter for icing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Milk for icing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes). Stir in sugar, egg, yolk, melted butter, and vanilla. Gradually add flour and salt until combined. Knead until soft and slightly sticky; mix in blue food coloring. Let rise in a greased bowl for about 1 to 1½ hours.
  2. Mix softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; stir in crushed cookies and chocolate chips.
  3. Roll out dough into a rectangle (14×9 inches); spread filling evenly on top. Roll tightly from one long side; cut into 12 pieces.
  4. Place rolls in a greased baking dish; let rise for another 30 to 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. For icing: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; add powdered sugar and milk until creamy.
  6. Drizzle icing over warm rolls before serving.
