  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups light brown sugar (lightly packed)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your baking pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter with granulated and brown sugars until smooth. Incorporate eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually combine with wet ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely before frosting.
  5. For the frosting, beat room temperature butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla bean paste until fluffy.
  6. Layer the brownie cakes with frosting in between and on top.
