  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (non-alcoholic)
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  3. Roll mixture into uniform meatballs (about 1.5 inches in diameter).
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; brown meatballs on all sides (5-7 minutes total).
  5. Pour BBQ sauce over browned meatballs; reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Assemble subs: place meatballs inside toasted rolls and spoon extra sauce over them.
  8. Top with cheddar cheese and crispy turkey bacon; return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.
